Don’t even for a second think about showing up “fashionably late” to TwestivalHK. You’ll miss out on so much. From the time doors open at 8:30, until the Grand Prize raffle draw (nearly HK$20,000 worth of top prizes!) at 11:30pm, TwestivalHK will be action packed: comedy, HKclubbing’s highly recommended DJ Riccie, MC Hyperlink, and fantastic prizes.
For those of you who plan to arrive early, we’ve got a special thank-you: a goody bag stuffed full of awesomeness. Like what?
For starters…Hong Kong’s coolest new few frozen yogurt experts — Soho’s very own Yogurt Time — will introduce you to all the taste of other dairy desserts and many less calories. Free Yogurt coupons for a day when you need to chill out.
Then…Choo, choo! Climb on the sushi train, stationed at Genki Sushi–giving away 450 pieces of sushi in the goody bags. (Actaully just coupons for sushi. You can thank us later.) We are grateful from the bottoms of our stomachs!
Plus…well, you’ll have to come early to find out what the big surprise is!

Cast your eyes up a wee bit and you can see the fantastic Twestival Hong Kong logo… designer Oliver Coquelin from Harbour Studios got the brief just right. We love it! The logo says Hong Kong, local, Twitter, connect, meet, greet and fun all in one small design (we’re suckers for the tiny birds framing the city!).
Harbour Studios places the emphasis on creativity. The firm uses stylish visual solutions to ensure your website stands out from the competition, giving you the edge in a cluttered market. They keep their eye on the prize… helping you to increase your sales conversions through the use of eye-catching design.
Thanks Olly. You can follow Olly on @olivercoquelin.

While many of the post on this blog have been in thanks to our sponsors, we don’t want anyone to think we’ve lost sight of what this is really about: the kids.
And the kids, the beneficiaries of our fund-raising, have found a way that they too can help! They have created some of the most amazing Twitter artwork we’ve ever seen.
This is the true spirit of TwestivalHK–giving!
All of their amazing artwork will be part of the raffle on Saturday night. Please, come on down and buy a few extra tickets for the kids — they really have worked so hard.
Prize winners of the children’s artwork will have their pictures taken with the art, and we’ll immediately share that with the worldwide Twestival community via Twitpic. (see this picture on Twitpic here)
Thanks again to all our friends at the Language Learning Program, and the tireless work from our charity co-ordinators, Thomas Crampton (@ThomasCrampton) and Kitty Desjardins (@Kittydes).
Through the support of generous corporate and individual sponsors, the FCC Charity Fund has awarded university scholarships to more than 50 students from Hong Kong’s low-income families and has funded the JP Morgan/FCC/Po Leung Kuk Language Training Centre, a facility that gives 300 PLK children in residence at their Causeway Bay headquarters the chance to learn English and Putonghua.
The FCC Charity Fund, together with Merrill Lynch, is actively raising money to enable them to open a second Language Training Centre in Kowloon to provide language skills to underprivileged children, a skill the Charity Fund recognizes is a necessity for employment not just in Hong Kong but around the region as well. The Charity Fund also assists its scholars with internships and employment support through the vast network of the FCC’s members who represent diverse industries and professions.

Twitter is a kick-arse environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, which is why Venture Hype (@venturehype) is such a kick-arse Twestival Hong Kong sponsor.
Why? Because that’s what the firm is all about. It’s a member-based network for seed-stage investors who are excited about profits and promising startups.
Joey Lo (@jlojlo), MD of Venture Hype and Tweeter-extraordinaire says: “The Hyper Team @ Venture Hype jumped at the chance to sponsor this fun and meaningful event and we’re downright excited to be part of it. Collectively, we’ve met tens of thousands of cool Tweeps and have made many meaty connections on Twitter. Sponsoring Twestival is a great way for us to do our small part to support a cause while saying thanks to everyone who engage with our tweets.”
Joey also wants to thank all the Twestival volunteers for making things happen!

A big thanks to Skagen Denmark for helping keep TwestivalHK ticking. One of these fab watches will be given out in the TwestivalHK Comedy Club (upstairs at the party venue) prior to each comedian taking to the stage.
But you’ve got to come upstairs on the night and buy a raffle ticket (or maybe lots of raffle tickets) from the comedy club if you want to be eligible to win. If you win, you’ll really be laughing!
Hong Kong is watch-crazy city and we are delighted that a master watchmaker like Skagen Denmark has donated eight (yes, 8!) beauties for us to give away.
“Skagen Denmark is proud to be a Diamond Sponsor of Hong Kong Twestival 2009. We are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year, and what could be a more fitting way to mark two decades of innovative, Danish designs than to be a part of a novel yet fun and cool event? We hope the prizes we sponsor will inspire the Hong Kong’s twitter community to appreciate the simple, elegant and sophisticated Danish design and help to raise funds for the worthy cause of the Po Leung Kok Orphanage Language Training Program. “
Come along for your chance to win! Get you tickets here (each come with three raffle tickets and a free beer!)
